Your agent gets better every single week — without you lifting a finger.

Season 2, Episode 2 of "Superpowers" – documenting how we're replacing the media agency for smaller businesses, so they can capture leads they'd otherwise never get. Follow Season 2 here: smoc.ai/blog/categories/superpowers. Season 1 of 5 Minutes is here: smoc.ai/blog/categories/5-minutes-series

Campaigns from media agencies tend to be too rigid, staying the same from month to month unless changed through long meetings. Our agents are flexible from the first interaction.

What's new on our side is that learning now happens on two levels at the same time.

Level 1: The agent learns in real time

It learns from everything: Which opener people actually want to respond to. Which wording got them to leave their contact details. When and where they respond.

The problem with classic A/B tests is that they run two (or more) variants for weeks before a winner is chosen, and you're paying for the losing ones the whole time until a new test starts (best case once a month if an agency is running it).

With our algorithm, the agent handles this differently. While the campaign is running, traffic is directed toward what's working in realtime. We then keep a small share exploring alternatives to make sure we never stop testing. This way the losers are replaced quickly without you having to pay for them.

Level 2: Agents are generated from the best of the network

When a new agent is created, we take our learnings from more than 10 million conversations to generate the best possible flow adapted to your context. We analyze your company and website, find your target market, and research what motivates your buyers.

And any time we find something that works better it feeds back into the network, creating an ever-evolving database of what works and what doesn't. Whatever worked for someone else last week will benefit your agent as well.

These two levels combined result in day one with us feeling like week 20.

So what do you actually notice?

All of this happens automatically. No need to even lift a finger to see a growing share of conversations turning into leads week after week.

It isn't magic

Learning needs volume. The more conversations an agent can have, the faster and better it learns. This learning curve is steepest at the start, while later on the work is mostly about keeping up as the market shifts, which our agents automatically do.

There's still one thing you have to do: tell the agent what a good lead looks like. That's what the next episode is about — teaching Meta and Google the same thing.
