Connecting a LinkedIn sender in SMOC Console

LinkedIn message flows need a connected sender account in Console. Connection runs through a hosted LinkedIn login from Console—not the legacy linkedin.smoc.ai portal.

Who this is for

• Companies on B2B or B2B + B2C packages that use LinkedIn outreach
• Operators connecting a first sender, reconnecting, or enabling Sales Navigator after connect

Before you connect

1. Credits — You generally need at least ~10 Credits available to start connect (Enterprise plans waive the minimum). If Credits are exhausted or subscription payment is overdue, Console opens an Add credits to connect LinkedIn path into Billing.
2. LinkedIn login — Use the sender account you want SMOC to send from. LinkedIn may still show its own security challenge (OTP / app approval) during hosted login. That is LinkedIn’s challenge—not a separate SMOC “enter 2FA” settings screen.
3. Sales Navigator (optional) — Not required for basic connect or DMs. Check I use Sales Navigator only if that seat has an active Sales Navigator subscription. For cookie login with SN, sign in at linkedin.com/sales first. You can also enable SN later under Settings.

After a successful connect, Console typically grants connect fuel (+40 Credits) and starts the monthly LinkedIn account Credit charge (list price 35 on Free; lower on higher plans—see Pricing).

Path A — Sales Launch (recommended for first agent)

Use this when onboarding or when the Dashboard Sales Launch card is still driving LinkedIn setup.

1. Open Dashboard (or /onboarding if you are still in the wizard).
2. On the LinkedIn step, choose Connect LinkedIn (you may see Checking credits… briefly).
3. In Connect LinkedIn account, optionally check I use Sales Navigator, then Continue.
4. Complete the hosted LinkedIn login in the browser window/tab that opens.
5. You return to Console via the LinkedIn callback (/settings/linkedin/callback).
6. Back on Sales Launch / Dashboard, continue:
   • Generate LinkedIn agent → Generate agent (or Retry generate)
   • Explore in Studio → LinkedIn Studio to review the message flow and targeting
   • Ensure Credits ready, then publish the LinkedIn flow in Studio before outreach runs

Sales Launch may also show progress rows such as LinkedIn account connected, Generate LinkedIn outreach flow, and Generate targeting portfolio.

Go-live: During a 21-day Starter trial, B2B (or B2B+B2C) companies can send the same day after Connect — there is no 7-day automatic go-live window. Review the agent in Studio and publish the message flow. After the trial, unpaid LinkedIn outbound pauses; subscribe to Starter to keep sending.

Path B — Settings → LinkedIn (anytime / reconnect)

1. In Console go to Settings → LinkedIn.
2. Click Connect account.
3. Same modal: optional I use Sales Navigator → Continue → hosted LinkedIn login → return to Settings.

On each connected account you can:

• Reconnect if the session expires
• Enable Sales Navigator / Refresh tier when LinkedIn tier detection needs an update
• Edit the account to set Daily limits, sync Inbox, or Disconnect
• Open Studio with ?connect=1 if a flow deep-link needs the connect modal

Daily limits (after connect)

Under Settings → LinkedIn → expand the account → Daily limits, set conservative caps (recommended safe vs hard max):

Use Reset to recommended safe limits if unsure, then Save limits. SMOC also paces actions across the day—limits protect sender reputation. LinkedIn message flows find the send times that get more accepts and replies for connection requests, messages, and InMail. Those sends stay inside the days and hours you set, including windows wider than 09:00–17:00, and inside the daily limits above. Flows that are already running pick this up. There is no extra switch, and the canvas AI node still chooses which message to send.

After connect: Inbox and replies

When a message flow pauses on Suggested Replies (sender), operators reply in Console Inbox. Prospects see the thread in LinkedIn. See Inbox for LinkedIn replies.

If the sender disconnects

A sender can go offline when:

• The LinkedIn login expired, the password changed, or LinkedIn showed a security check
• Someone clicked Disconnect or removed the account in Settings
• Credits stayed at zero long enough that LinkedIn was taken offline for billing
• LinkedIn restricted the account

We treat it as the same person when the LinkedIn login email matches. If LinkedIn did not give an email, we match a unique profile name in this workspace.

You Connect a different LinkedIn person	Same: select + Publish	First-send waiting contacts can move. In-progress conversations stay on the old sender (the prospect already has a thread with that person).
Billing took LinkedIn offline	Add credits, Connect, select sender, Publish	Agents that billing paused need a live sender on the published flow before outbound resumes.

Flow senders vs Disconnect

Assign senders on the message flow in Studio (Targeting → LinkedIn accounts), then Publish. Unchecking a sender and publishing reassigns contacts still waiting for their first send to another sender on that flow. In-progress conversations stay on the removed sender unless the newly selected sender is the same LinkedIn person (login email, or unique profile name)—then they continue without restarting the sequence. Adding a sender does not move existing enrollments.

Disconnect under Settings → LinkedIn is different: it takes the account offline for all flows. If the row is still there, click Reconnect—campaigns stay published and in-progress conversations resume. You do not need to republish. Deleting the row and connecting again needs a sender selected in Studio and Publish. Uncheck is not the same as Disconnect.
